Help with fallen arch + knee pain?(long story)?
-
*tl'dr: at the bottom *I know most of you aren't doctors, but any help is grateful. Okay hi. Apparently I have a fallen arch, flat foot, etc, whatever you want to call it. I'm also in high school, and have to do Physical Education once a week for an hour and twenty minutes. My knees have issues (especially the right one) For example: One time, I was standing on the bed, trying to turn the ceiling fan on, and I stretched up to turn it on, and I felt this sharp pain in my right knee that lasted for like 5 seconds, then it went to a dull ache then went away after a while. This happened again when I had to jump over something(always the right knee) and more times over the years. I think the right knee has a problem because when I was like 11/12(I'm 16 now) we were doing soccer in P.E. We were doing drills, running down the field(that was the week after the school fair so the holes for the tent poles were all over the field). I was running fast, kicking the soccer ball, and my right knee went straight down into one of the holes(it was kinda deep) and I heard a crack, and then this pain, so I kinda hopped around for the rest of the class. Long story short, I told my mom, she didn't pay attention to it, so from that day, my knees always hurt, (but not a oh-my-God-I'm-gonna-die-pain especially the right one) when I walk for long distances or run(which I have to do during school). I also went to the doctor last year, and she said that I had a fallen arch, so that could be the problem for the pain. She recommended my mom to take me to another joint/bone/whatever else related doctor but she has yet to do that(and she won't anytime soon). This was months ago. Also, today after P.E. again, all both of my knees starting aching, but later when I came home, my right knee started to REALLY hurt. And soccer starts next week, for 5 weeks. She bought me Dr Scholl's(sp?) insole inserts or whatver, but they don't help. *TL'DR: I have had knee pain(in the right knee especially) over the years and it has started to get worse. My doctor suggested my mom take my to a specialist but she has yet to do it(that was months ago). I have to run during P.E. every week at school(which makes it worse). My questions ARE: What can I do to get her to take me to a specialist faster?(she's not listening to the other doctor or me) What can I do to ease the knee pain? She said she would buy me some kind of brace over the weekend for my knee...which one do you suggest I get? P.S.: I also can't drive myself to the doctor, and my dad would not be able to take me. Thank you in advance.
