What are the symptoms of migraine/ serious headache?

Had a severe headache for 2 days, think it's a migraine, going to DR..what are migraine symptoms, how long do?

    Wow - they can last up to 3 days at least for me. OTC meds do not help me. They can give you midrin for the first few times. I think that's the first line of defense and is cheap so I hope it works for you. BTW - if you ever get sinus headaches, they can really be migraines in disguise. Typically, the headaches will be on one side of your head. You can be very sensitive to lights and noise as well. Many people will find that they vomit towards the end of a migraine spell. I have them ALL the time! they usually last for about 24 hours maybe less for me. If the temperature changes more take some Ibuprofen just in case. If you take at least 1 then you might feel better soon. If you sleep a lot do it whenever you have one. It might just be sinuses, but I think you're right. Oh.. and ask your mom to buy either Sprite or Gingerale. IT REALLY WORKS IF YOU DRINK THEM!!! BEST OF LUCK :):):):)>

Just speaking personally (because my friend gets slightly different symptoms), I get weird "lights" flashing about, one side of my face aches all over, I feel sick and need to be in a really dark room. I have special strength painkillers that I take when I feel a migraine coming on, which I got from my GP. When the pain eventually goes, I feel really tired the next day, and my eyes ache. Go and see your doctor - I hope you get things sorted out.

Thank God that I am not a consistent sufferer of Migraines but I have unfortunately had a few in my life but I'm talking 5wks off 40yrs so I s'pose that's not too bad! Anyway the symptoms that I have are crippling pain that you can't even move your head with, constant nausea, light sensitivity then when they subside i feel really heavy in the head & weak & only prescribed meds like Panadeine Forte or Mersyndol Forte gets rid of it
