Sever Back Pain and Mild Chest Pain?

  • This is a letter i plan to give too the nurse to give my doc before she meets me on Monday, and anybody who isn't a twit your responses too whether i have a legitimate gripe about my back, and the letter in itself would be appreciated, it's a lil lengthy, but id appreciate it. Sometimes i get sever back pain despite rest when i can get it, i have a hard time sleeping. When the Pain Really flares up bad i'll experience numbness, tingling and a hot flashes that are like pulses where the origin of the pain is. Sometimes its in 3 differant locations all at once. My chest will hurt from both end of my shoulders, through out my pecs and centralize in the middle of my chest too my pecs, it feels like a strong heavy pressure, with the most sever pain being there. It's a throbbing hot pain, and caughing, sneezing makes the pain radiate like machine gun fire. With the back pain it starts at the shoulders, sometimes neck, travels all the way down my back to my waist. It's usually a small throbbing pain, but later in the day it get alot worse. It feels like the pain is attacking me in 3 different locations in my back, all throbbing simultaneously. That's when it get's bad too the point where i fell like crying and i have to rock back and forth like a cripple. Feels like my back is gonna snap in half, most of my back goes numb except for those areas. Sometimes i'll start to run a fever. Throughout the pain shoulders to waist its always a ward throbbing pain. This has been lasting 3-4 months constantly, day in and day out, i've had back pain before but just 2-3 days at a time. So i dont know what to do it's getting very painfull, and at time's debilitating. Usually usually pain is like a 4 when i wake up but come mid day and on when i have stuff to do it's about a 7 or 8 TOPS. I've tried chiropractors, i exercise lightly each day. This is kind of a last resort too me at this point doc. I've tried everything imaginable Naproxen, aleve, tylenol, ibuprofen, any NSAID i can find that may help and they dont touch it. Ive been taking the maximum daily doses of them, sometimes at once for a hope of relief, and they do NOTHING to dull the pain. So ive had to resort to having a few drinks everytime my back hurts, and that only lasts so long. Anything we could figure out too help would be appreciate, thanks

  • Answer:

Have you ever had your back x-rayed? It sounds like you have a trapped nerve or something, which is usually caused by a collapse in the vertebral column or compression of the cartilage between the vertebrae.
