Pain and numbness in ankle and foot ?
-
I dislocated my right ankle and had a severe sprain 7 years ago. I get numbness in my foot from my three toes (middle to pinky), my whole right side of my foot and in my ankle. After 7 minutes of treadmill or 10 minutes of outside walking my foot goes completly numb, throbs with pain and hurts. my ankle consistantly pops when I walk. Hurts when it pops. Then to top it off if I tap about 6 inches above my ankle on the right side of my calf it sends a sharp shooting pain down my ankle (this occurs anytime, even w/out exercise). What are these symptoms called? Are they treatable? How can I exercise without pain (no access to pool)?

Answer:
Sounds like you have a chronic nerve injury that has impacted your quality of life. i would go to my doctor and ask for a referral to the appropriate service (plastics for nerve injuries where I am from). Could you try another, lower impact type of exercise? Good luck.
