I have severe Neck Pain & It's a Pitch Nerve?

Why Do I have Severe Neck Pain?

  • I woke up in the middle of the night finding my neck with a really sharp pain in the top right of my neck beside my spinal cord. I know that this isn't any like Sore Neck from sleeping weird or something because it hurts a lot. The pain is hard to explain but every time I move my head a certain spot the pain comes really really sharp, making me want to yell or punch something. As well if I don't move my head back into a spot where it doesn't hurt, my neck almost locks into position and I can almost not move it out of the pain. If I try to kneel down to pick something up it hurts a lot. I've had a sore neck from sleeping weird before everyone has but this pain is no sore neck. I was wondering what was causing it? I'm guessing its a pinched nerve or something? Is there any treatments I may do I don't really wanna go to the doctors because they always make me wait a few hours and I work 5 Days a week with today being one of my days off I really don't wanna spend it waiting to see the doctor. Any help would be awesome, I'm just going to put an ice pack on it for now and relax. Thanks everyone!

  • Answer:

Except for it being only your neck, this sounds like classic trigeminal neuralgia. Mine starts in the neck like you describe, but it radiates across the face. Go to a website and see what you think, the Mayo Clinic has a good site, but there are many others. Good luck with it.
