Herniated disc in cervical?

Are full body aches caused or related to herniated disc?

• I've been suffering from herniated disc for over a year. I've also noticed that when I have intercourse with my husband I feel HORRIBLE the next day with full body aches. I know the body aches are a result of physical activity during sex but back then I wasn't in pain after sex. Could it be that I become easily sore after sex due to some nerve damage from the herniated disc? I was curious if they were both linked.

  Hi, I am a Holistic Health Practitioner. Regarding your thoughts that your sexual activity is aggravating your spine I have to say is quite possible and the fact that is permeates the whole body may indicate that the positions you use may not the best for you in your condition. You can be assured that a herniated disc will result in nerve damage over time. Where is this disc in your spine? lumbar,etc.? Has your physician given you pain medication that works for you? If so, you can dose yourself before sex, go easy on your positions, and take a warm bath after (to relax the herniation) and this may be a way to alleviate your pain, or, keep it to a minimum. I am sorry that you have such pain. I have a couple of herniated discs in my neck due to three whiplashes over the years. My best relief when it is acute is muscle relaxers and a pain med; as well, every morning I take a nice hot shower and stretch (slowly) my neck and my spine, and during the day I stretch my neck often, always slowly.
