Why do I have sharp pain in the middle of upper back?

Back pain in the middle-to-upper of my back?

  • I have back pain in the middle-to-upper of my back. Even a little twist to right or left I feel the excruciating pain between my ribs all across my upper back. I don’t have pain in my shoulders or neck. However, I can twist my body without a pain, but only if I try to do it very very slowly,,, it may take a 30 seconds to do it but without the pain. The worst pain is when I am in the bed trying to turn around or lying down on the floor. However, in the standing position it is not as bed,,,for most part it is not bothering me. I am 67 years old male, and I did not injure my self Please any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks

  • Answer:

You may have injured yourself without realising it or the problem could be a culmination of a number of factors. Stay gently mobile and try an ice pack on the painful area. You may want to see your doctor or someone like a chiropractor so they can examine you and advise on a course of action.
