Is tongue piercing bleeding normal?

Bleeding tongue piercing?

  • i got my tongue pierced last thursday (its now monday) and my tongue has been bleeding ever since. it was fine on thursday, but now it just randomly starts to bleed, but only for a while, and not alot of blood. it also looks like the skin around the hole is torn or something. and my tongue has a greenish tinge to it. ive asked the piecer if its normal, and they think that because its not a huge amount of blood, it should be fine. but im not sure what to do. is there anything i should be having to reduce the bleeding? i find sucking on ice to be uncomfortable.

    That's what you get for piercing your tongue. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide, so if it's infected it will clean it. Put some topical anesthetic on it and if it stays like that for a while you should go to a doctor, and remember the number of who ever gave it to you...

I had my tongue pierced once, but I took it out cause I didn't like it anymore. That happened to me aswell, I went to my piercing place (I got it done at cosmetics plus), and they said that it should be fine aswell. Mine was fine, but it's not certain that yours isn't infected. Make sure you are taking care of it very well and clean it every day, tongue piercings tend to get infected D: If you dont trust your piercer than just go to the doctor to get it checked out. If it's only a bit of bleeding that's fine, you just got it pierced it still needs to heal. Don't worry, it will be fine :)

If its not a lot, I wouldn't worry about it. Just follow the regimen they gave you to keep it free of infection (Mouthwash and all that). A little blood is expected. If it goes on longer than, say 6 weeks, then be concerned. Remember, you just got it not long ago. Just keep it clean and follow their instructions.

it sounds kinda infected maybe you should try disinfecting it more often or go get it checked out where you got it pierced and see what they think
