My knee feels very swollen could there be a fluid in it?

I cannot bend my left knee because it feels like something keeps moving out of place?

• Okay let me explain. So back in 2002 my freshman year in high school i walked from a pep rally and before i could even realize what just happened both of my knees gave away. This giving away thing has been an issue since i would say about the age of 6 or 7 is when it started. So for years i pretty much got used to this happening and doctors gave me NO real answers. Back to the pep rally incident.. I refused to be wheeled back to the nurse's office because i swore that it was just one of those things that always happened so i walked all the way to the bus then all the way home from the bus stop. By the time i got into my house i was DRAGGING my leg. Low and behold my mom takes me to the orthopedics and they say that i dislocated my knee. Ever since then i attended physical therapy for a total of about 5 times (5 different places that is) because anytime my knee would give out from that point forward it was a matter of me limping everywhere with terrible pain. I've even had what they called fluid in the knee and had to get it removed with a HUGE needle. That was VERY PAINFUL!! To make a long story short, the doctors finally told me that between the fact that i am knock kneed and flat foot that i barely had any support for my legs and i would either have to do knee exercises for years to come or get two more dislocations and they'd put me under the knife. Currently today i have no health insurance any longer and the problems haven't gone away. Off and on i get this thing where it feels like a bone or something moves and blocks my knee to where i can't bend it and if i try it's stuck like if i pulled it back any further something might break and i also have to walk straight legged. Does anyone know of anything i can do about this? I also realize i HAVE TO lose weight because my problems are getting worse since i've gained pounds over the years and that's put extra stress on the knee. I'm afraid to do exercises because i can barely bend it. (sighs)
