Is any one still having problems with the launch cast today?

I have a stress fracture that i belive is worse then before, my foot dr, just leaves it. would a cast feel ?

  • I have 2 stress fractures, one in each foot. there is very few otho/podiatrist, that my insurance covers. the dr im am currently seeing now, took me 4 months to get into. He looks at my mri and says that i have a stress fracture in my 2nd metatarsal bone on my left foot. And possibly one on the 5th metatarsal on my right. He is doing nothing about either one of them. Gave me cortisone for the cyst in my right foot said see ya in a month. Over the weekend, i was walking down stairs and stepped wrong, cause PAIN in my right foot. know that i have few options, i tough it out, being in pain every time i put weight on it. I have no pain when im off of it. After 2 days like this I went to urgent care, Knowing not many people will do anything about my feet. (because i have problems with them), They xray it and tell me they don't see any spurs or fractures. They are led to believe that i have irritated or done something to my current stress fracture. (which do not show up on xrays) she put me in a splint and told me to see dr this week. I have an appointment today with him, but he is the kind that wont do anything. hell he as already confirmed a stress fracture in my left and didn't do anything about it. Im afraid today will be the same thing. But when it was splinted my foot didn't ache as bad. how do i get him to see that it is painful, would i look stupid asking him to cast it? I go all day long, for everyone. what would you do

  • Answer:

as painful as it may be there really is nothing they can really do bc it is best for your feet to exercise them. putting thm in a cast or a splint will imobilize them and you will have less of a chance for full use after the cast is removed. not to mention physcal theropy. my suggestion would be to take an anti inflamatory like aleive for one dose and then something like motrin for the next dose. never mix the neds together! alternate them for a few days and put you feet up for twenty minutes at a time. make sure you try and fully walk on them atleast twice a day. also excersise them by ''writing'' the ABC's with your toes. I hope this helps and you feel better.
