Why does my knee hurt so much?

Why does my knee hurt so much? any sugesstions appreciated :)?

  • I have been in pain for almost 6 months. I initially injured my right knee playing volleyball. the docotor told me it was a torn meniscus. The I went to another doctor, he told me it was not a big deal. My knee is the size of a lacrosse ball and very sore. It constantly buckles and locks. I was then diagnosed with patellofemoral syndrome. However my doctor won't take any further action. He has requested another MRI, but my knee is so unstable I can't hardly walk. Any ideas on the cause of my pain? What can I do??? Very frustrated

It kind of sounds like you need to find a highly recommended doctor or something. The same thing happened to me when I injured my knee. I went to the doctor and had an x ray and MRI done, and they said that I was fine, so after about a week or two sitting out, I started practicing with my team again. Soon after, I went to an orthopedic doctor/surgeon and he told me I actually need surgery and that I could have completely blown out my knee from practicing. So maybe try an actual doctor or surgeon that takes in new patients. They usually know more about what they're talking about than some of the local "doctors" do.
