Can you walk after bunion surgery?

Post bunion surgery question?

  • ive been told by people that had similar surgeries done to their feet that the cold will bother your feet, and rain also. but my doctor told me that since my bunion surgery wasnt directly in my joint that it wouldnt bother me when weather got cold and with rain, however since i had the surgery with the titanium screw put into my bone, and ever since its gotten cold sometimes it throbs for a little and goes away completely.. could i have arthritis in my toe already? its dec 23rd 09 i had it operated on july 21st 09 and ill be 26 on december 28th.. im still young.. if the screw is not in my toe joint, why has it been hurting off and on?! ugh! im really active and i know now that my foot is never going to be the same, but at least now i can run and walk without the horrible pain.. thanks for your help!

Happy to hear your surgery went o.k. Now, were you told what caused your bunions? Without this information it is very possible that you could have the condition again. Generally, this is a biomechanical issue so without knowing how you developed the problem, I assume you will go on with life doing the same things that might include the things that created the problem.
