Can labyrinthitis be congenital?

Feeling like throwing up and Labyrinthitis?

  • Okay so 2 nights ago I got out of the hospital cuz I was feeling dizzy and like wanna throw up and had some stomach ache and my mouth tastes bad..The exam showed that I got Labyrinthitis and I was given (Meclizine for Labyrinthitis) (Ondansetron which is Zofran for Nausea and Vomiting) and (Protonix for acid reflux in my stomach but I ended up getting Omeprazole cuz its cheaper). So from experience people who took Meclizine, Ondansetron and Omeprazole, how long is it going to take for the medicines to help because it has been 2 nights and Im not as nauseousness as before but still feel the little dizzines, stomach pain at times and mouth taste which is a bit annoying? Do I have to wait a little longer or call a Doctor? [P.S. I only took 2 tablets of Omeprazole so far and about 5 tablets of Ondansetron and 5 tablets of Meclizine.]

  • Answer:

See your health care provider for consultation on labyrinthitis symptoms. Usually, each succeeding attack gets shorter and milder, although some people continue to have dizzy spells at irregular intervals for many years. Certain medications may help control the dizziness. These drugs include dimenhydrinate, sold over-the-counter as Dramamine, and meclizine, available by prescription as Antivert or over-the-counter as Bonine or Dramamine II. I hope this helps you. And good luck.
