What are the purple lumps?

What are these hard lumps going from my roof of my mouth down to the gums?

• What are these hard lumps going from my roof of my mouth down to the gums? I have these weird lumps in my mouth,on either side of the roof, right at the back, and going towards the last peice of my gum..you cant really see it,but when i go over it with my finger i can feel them and i can feel them with my tongue. They are hard and feel like bone, and are little sore. Is this my wisdom teeth?? sometimes the right side sends a pain up to my head. I think there sore cos i keep rubbing them with my tongue. When i feel it with my finger the lumps come from down my jaw and then at the gum it is really hard and i can feel a spike under the gum. What is this?? I plan on seeing my dentist very soon, its just hard to get in there. Could it possibly be my wisdom teeth?? do they come from teh roof of the mouth?? Im nearly 19yrs old. And do theys end a pain up in your head??

  Could be wisdom teeth that are impacted. You do need to see a dentist as soon as possible. I'm sure they will take x-rays and send you to an oral surgeon if it is impacted teeth. While you wait for an appointment you might want to rinse your mouth several times a day with a warm solution of salt water. Salt is a natural antibiotic.
