Stress.. or a tumor.. go to the doctor.
You actually might need glasses. Have your eyes checked..Another thing might be that you are under a lot of stress. Do you get the head aches after lunch or before? You either might be waiting too long to eat and this is giving you a headache or if its after you might have food allergies. You might want to carry a healthy snack with you to eat in between breakfast and lunchtime. If it keeps up and you find the headaches are due to the long stretch between meals, tell the nurse and you may be able to go to the nurses office to eat a quick snack if you might get in trouble for eating in class..
Next time ya get a headache shake your head as fast as you can and as hard as you can... it worked for me.
Get glasses, or some drugs
it could b the lighting at ur school. that happened to me a lot last year! i would recomend drinkin lots of water and even havin a little something to eat every couple classes
I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. It could be your eyes if you think reading is making it worse. Have your eyes checked, and if the prescription shows that one of your eyes is way different than the other (or the doctor says you have one "lazy eye"), then please please see an opthamologist, not an optometrist, because glasses can make your headaches worse with lazy eye - in some cases ( like mine ). If lighting is affecting your headaches, then you probably have the beginnings of migraines. Migraines are not like stress headaches. They are a form of epilepsy, and are triggered by lights and sounds, as well as by radical fluctuations of blood sugar, for most people with migraines. If you get more than 4 headaches per month (stress or migraine), you are a candidate for preventative medication such as anti-seizure meds, or beta blockers or both. In the meantime, you can use Imitrex, Relpax or Zomig (among others) to make your headaches magically disappear so you can function. Don't suffer daily anymore. (Warning: if you don't have health insurance, these meds are super expensive!) Only one person I've ever heard of takes anything addictive for headaches - and he has to "dry out" forcibly every three months. I shudder to imagine it. Poor guy. Everything I've mentioned is non-addictive, non-"controlled substance". I like the advice someone here gave of eating after every other class and drinking a lot of water. Talk to your teachers and let them know about the headaches and why you're sneaking a drink of water from your bookbag, so they don't get mad at you. They'll understand. if they don't, get your parents to complain until they do. UPDATE: Oh yeah, one more thing... don't discount that guy who said to shake your head. I've had some awful experiences going to the emergency room with a headache because the ER people have had too many bad experiences with people seeking narcotics and claiming to be "in pain" when they're not. So a couple of times I got really frustrated and banged my head against a wall really hard and the migraine "broke" and subsided to a more manageable pain level. Thus, I avoided having to go to the ER, which I hate with a passion. Don't hurt yourself, but sometimes a little shake may do the trick. My doctor says it's because I gave my body a reason to release adrenalin, kind of like using an epi pen after a bee sting. Don't rely on it or anything, but you'd eventually figure it out yourself, so there's no harm in telling you. Just remember, it's a LAST RESORT. Peace.
