Sharp pains in stomach, what could they be?

Sharp pains in lower stomach followed by feeling like gas and I pee alot, what's wrong?

  • For about a week now I have been having sharp pains that started on my right side of my stomach and last all day then it moved down to my lower stomach and I have been peeing alot but I just had my period about 3 weeks ago so I don't think I could be pregnant and plus I have Mirena but I'm not really sure what it could be cause it's been over a week or so that this has been happening. Can someone tell me something?

The lady I work with had the same symptoms and she had to have her gallbladder removed. You should go to the doctor.

Honey- if it is your appendix and it ruptures- you could (very likely you will) DIE. You need to see a medical MD as soon as possible. Its very serious. Do you have a fever????

Do you see the variety of answers you have gotten? Go to a doctor, you could be in deep grits, go to Emergency Room if you can't get appointment, try walk in clinic , it's cheaper , I hear. Meanwhile, chew a ton of garlic. Do you have a jar of chopped or minced garlic in the house? Start taking it by the tablespoon full as you head out the door.

either u need to get ur appendix removed 0r ur pregooo!

seek medical advise it could be wind

It could be a kidney infection. That sounds more likely to me than anything. However, I see two possibilities here: a kidney infection or appendicitis. Both are serious. If it was just gas, you would have gotten over it already. Do you feel a burning sensation when you pee at all, or have you had the sensation lately? Do you have flulike symptoms? These are signs of a kidney infection. Women are particularly prone to kidney infections, and they often come on after a bladder infection. Bladder infections are often masked (you don't really notice them); however, if you have been peeing a lot over the past few weeks and have had a burning sensation while peeing, that would indicate an earlier bladder infection that may or may not have spread. Do you feel any nausea? Have you lost your appetite? Is your pain poorly localized (it doesn't seem to stay in one place)? This could be appendicitis. Take your temperature and monitor it. If you have a fever, that's an important symptom of both a kidney infection or appendicitis, and you should go to the doctor ASAP. A fever indicates there's something serious going on. Here are some additional resources: http://www.medicinenet.com/appendicitis/page2.htm http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/kidney-infection/DS00593/DSECTION=symptoms I'm not sure about garlic, but cranberry juice helps relieve the burning sensation while urinating that accompanies a kidney/bladder infection. However, if you're in pain and/or running a fever, no food is going to help you anyway.
