Are all UCs good colleges?

If I send all my SAT I & II scores to colleges, would it hurt my chances?

  • esp on the subject SATs, i got a 750 in bio, 760 in US History, but a 680 in chemistry. Would sending the chemistry score as well hurt me, or would the colleges (the UCs esp) just pick the top 2 highest scores and disregard my chemistry score? I could have chosen to leave chemistry out, but I didn't and now it's too late, hahaha.

  • Answer:

Some schools don't even allow you to use Score Choice and you have to send all of your scores. Even so, most schools only look at your top scores. I believe, though I am not positive, the UCs want two SAT Subject Tests, meaning they will only look at your two highest, which would be bio and us history. The 680 on chemistry shouldn't hurt your chances. It's not even that bad a score, though for Berkeley and Los Angeles, it may be on the low side. My sister got into Cornell even though her first SAT score was a 1780 (2140 later on), and only one of her SAT subject tests broke 700. Don't sweat it. It won't hurt you.
