SAT SCORES, SEND TO COLLEGE?

What if I don't send all my SAT scores to a college by SAT score choice when the college requires that you sen?

  • d all? What if I still only send my best ones? Will they know?

  • Answer:

Normally when you use the score sending service on the Collegeboard website, they send the school you select the entire batch of your scores. Any SAT you've taken, be it the Reasoning test or a Subject Test, will get sent to the school. Don't be worried that they'll see your worst scores though, they're very forgiving and it ends up being a good thing for you. With the Reasoning test, if you've taken it multiple times, they will take your best score on each subsection and add it together to give you the highest overall score possible. I knew kids who took the SAT three times and only studied for one category at a time. They'd get an 800 in Math and 600s in the English ones, then vice versa each following time. When they sent their scores, it looked like they had a 2400 because the school accepted their best section scores rather than their highest single overall score. If you miss the deadline, they probably won't appreciate it and therefore it won't help your application any. They are somewhat forgiving, particularly if you call them a few days in advance of the deadline to notify them of the trouble you're having.
