How long does it take to study for the SATs?

Could a high school junior that would otherwise score a 1500 on the SATs be able to score above 2000?

  • If so, how? I am a high school junior that is going to take the SATs sometime during January. THIS IS GOING TO BE MY FIRST TIME TAKING THE SATS. I have taken the preSATS before in my sophomore year, and judging from the results, I would get somewhere around a 1500 if I take the SATs. I would really love to get over 2000, so is there any POSSIBLE WAY i can do this? Be as detailed as you possibly can. This can include study methods, when to study, study for how long, and what to study. 10 POINTS BEST ANSWER!

  • Answer:

1600 is a perfect score and above 1500 is in the 98th percentile... so congratulations!!! However, you can score a perfect 1600 on your SAT, as I have several friends who did score that well in High School. Good Luck. Chris Allen www.3win.com

I did MUCH better on my SATs than PSATs. Take lots of practice tests and if you can afford them Kaplan or other prep classes. Also make sure to check what you did wrong on your practice tests. My school offered summer camps and classes that were affordable to help prepare. Kaplan also offers computer software that they claim will raise your score at least 200 points. The first time I took the PSATs it estimated that I would get about a 1650 and I got a 1990 on the actual test. I didn't even take any private classes! Good Luck!
