What's the best SAT prep book?

Is it okay to study from a SAT book written two years ago?

  • I have a SAT book that was given to me by this SAT course. I was not even a freshmen at the time so it was not at all useful to me. But now i will be a junior this upcoming school year and i want to be ready for the SAT. i want to know if i should study from this book. The book is written for 2006-2007. But the SAT hasn't changed much right? i don't want to waste money to buy another book if this one is just as good. what do you think? The author of this book has an unique sense of humor and i enjoy reading it as well. Is it about the same? or am i wasting my time and i should just go by the latest book?

  • Answer:

it shouldnt really matter- that one has the writing right? there's also a full practice test on the collegeboard site i also recommend going to freerice.com to study vocab- you can study and help people at the same time! and i would plan to take the sat at least twice- you'll do way better the second time and TAKE THE ACT!!!! it's WAY easier and you'll get a BETTER SCORE!

The SAT tests general knowledge, and it doesn't matter what guide you have because the questions won't be the same anyway. The purpose of those guides is to help you understand how the SAT works, how the questions are asked, etc., so that you don't waste time trying to understand the directions. Use the study guide that you have. Libraries also often have test prep guides. Take the PSAT if you really want a practice run.
