How are SAT/ACT scores sent to colleges?

Do the highest scores from SATs get sent to colleges?

  • i took SATs twice already and the first time my scores were: march 2009 critical reading - 370 math - 430 writing - 540 june 2009 the second time i took them: critical reading: 460 math - 400 writing - 500. i am taking them again in november to get my math score up, so will my highest scores from each section get sent to colleges when i apply or can i only send scores from one specific day? thank you!

  • Answer:

hey firstly, its a good thing that you improved each time you took it. Colleges will only see the test which had the highest score. You cant pick the highest score from a section from different tests. Like in November if you get a 600 in math but get a 300 in writing, you cant pick your writing score from a previous test! Your overall HIGHEST scores will be sent. oh and colleges don't tend to look at the writing section a lot.

it depends on what schools you send the scores to. Some look at your highest exam, most look at highest combined. In this instance you would be seen as having a 1430. Good luck improving your math score
