How to prepare for the TOEFL iBT on your own?

  • I need the TOEFL iBT for the exchange program I want to be part of. I need to score above 100 (of 120). So I went to this english institute to ask about the test. They told me the test lasts 5 hours or so. I had to do a shorter version of the test where I scored 105, which is pretty good (it lasted 2 hours approx). They told me I didn't need much preparation, just some classes at the institute, but hell they were so expensive. So I'm looking for a way to be sure to score above 100 (in the longest version). Any ideas on how I could prepare this test?

    Download TOEFL iBT Sample papers from Internet. Also buy book for it along with CD so that practice can be done. Solve as many question papers you can solve published on Internet.

Buy a preparation book that comes with the CD (play it on a cd player). Get a friend that's a fluent English speaker to evaluate your responses. He or she can also pretend to be one of the voices/speakers in the listening section to test you.
