Can someone grade my essay?

  • Ok, can someone please grade my essay, and make corrections, its for my honors english assignment, and im pretty lost about it! please give corrections, and a before and after grade of the corrections made I'm explaining about who i think was at fault for all the deaths in romeo and juliet Prince Escalus’ Failure to Keep Peace Authority figures, They are the rule setters, and the peace makers, they are what keeps us in our boundaries. But sometimes these figures fail in their duties, and the result isn’t something easy to fix, or forget, but is something bigger and takes the lives of many. With that, Prince Escalus takes the blame for all the deaths that occurred in the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Being the Prince of Verona, it is safe to say he’d known about the long standing feud between the Montagues and the Capulet, so he should have known, that by only making death threats, he would not be able to stop the blood shed, and thus by only words he failed to keep the peace between both families. In the beginning of the play, when a fight starts between the Montagues and the Capulets in town, the Prince, is not happy about it at all. He starts to threaten the families, saying if they fight one more time, both families’ lives would be taken, Which seems a bit like an oxymoron, because you can’t end blood shed with blood shed, this announcement was his ultimate mistake, although with that he tried to put fear in the reckless families, he should have considered the personalities of the family members first. Yes, some just by the threat were able to stop from fighting like Benvolio, but others like Tybalt, Mercutio would be easily marked as the rebellious ones that would not give up a fight, or quarrels. Paris being the authority figure should have known this, and stopped the feud from those roots. He could have just selected the trouble makers from the families and imprisoned them, because the rest of the members from The Montages and The Capulets, were not extremely violent and could handle the feud better. Because of the Prince’s failure to take action against the feud, he single handedly killed most of the characters in the book. If the Prince had given discipline, at that moment, rather than waited for another fight to start he could have stopped what was eventually waiting to happen, which was Tybalt killing Mercutio, which resulted in Romeo avenging Mercutio’s death, by killing Tybalt, thus causing himself to get exiled from Verona, which lead his mother to death due to her grief over his banishment, and provoked Juliet to fake her own death to be with Romeo, who later killed Paris in Juliet’s Tomb, then kill himself because of Juliet’s death, and when Juliet woke up she killed herself, because her one true love was dead. That is a total of 6 deaths, that the Prince could have stopped from happening if only he’d took early precautions. A leader’s job is always to protect the lives of his followers. Wether the imprisons the trouble makers, or works out the problem that seems to be effecting the towns people. Take Abraham lincoln for an example, when the North and South, were at war, he did that threaten to kill everyone, if they didn’t stop, no, he thought about it and acted on the requests of the people, because he knew the behaviors and personalities of his people, unlike the Prince, who thought a simple threat could handle a long family feud was awfully wrong, because a leader needs to know the value of his people, and try to stop the killing, and not to make death okay, if he is the one committing it. There are plenty of other ways the Prince could have handled the feud better than he actually did. He could have, banished the wrong doers from Verona, to prevent further fights in his streets. He could have imprisoned, Tybalt, because he would always raise his sword in the presence of a Montague. He also could have held a city wide meeting, in the town declaring new rules for the two families, and if not followed, he could have than put in cruel punishments. There are countless ways he could have settled everything with actions, because his words did not do justice, but instead caused everything to continue. So, because the Prince Escalus, did not handle anything with actions, but made threats to the Capulets and Montagues, both families suffer great losses. Because it takes great authority figures to lead a group, and bring them together, words to not heal a feud but actions do, and the Prince should have thought of it, but because of his failure to do so 6 lives, were lost in Verona, from a simple feud that could have been solved with a simple guidance by a ruler who knew the people living in his town and the personalities of each, because with that he could have saved all those people from dying, but since he could not, he is to blame for all the deaths that occurred in the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.
