I got into UCSD but I am not sure whether I should enroll in UCSD or UCI. what should I do?

I put mechanic/aerospace engineering for my major in UCI and UCSD and I got accepted to both of these colleges, but I'm not sure what college to enroll in. I know that UCSD's engineering program is top 12 in nation wide and UCI's is somewhere top 30. So I definitely look forward to the engineering program in UCSD; however, I heard that there is no social life in UCSD. I heard that they have too much work and rarely take a break from studying. so I need to know... what's it like in UCSD? pls state ur opinion or experience I also heard that people in UCSD are anti-social. now i'm not here to insult this school. I just wantto know the truth. btw I'm looking forward to this school. which school is better? uci or ucsd? what's it like in uci? whats the social life over at uci? I am also looking forward to uci because it is far easier than ucsd. my college plan: I do want to study hard, but I also want to have a lot of fun. please help what should i do?

Answer:
I don't know much about the programs but let me give you a little insight to what qualifies for 'social' life at UCI. It seems the student organizations have control of the campus. So if you are Jewish or Christian be prepared for an unfriendly social environment. This campus often makes the news with its outrageous student behavior. The soft sciences ie. arts and studies of the mind are mentored by politically extreme professors. Guest lecturers usually have radical views of Christian, Jewish, or American contribution to world development. You might want to Google UCI in the news and compare that with another search of UCSD in the news. Wherever possible, whichever school you choose, I'd recommend staying with the hard science classes. Math, engineering, etc., are great choices. Congratulations and good luck with your chosen field.

UC irvine is located in the middle of nowhere. PLEASE do not go there. i'm a chemical engineering major at UCI and there is NO social life here. everyone is either an overzealous bookworm or a commuter. the kids here are boring as all hell and there is absolutely NOTHING to do. i'm transferring to ucsd at the start of the next school year.
