Would a 'W' on a transcript affect getting an internship/job with CIA?

Getting a C in AP Physics or dropping the class and get a W on Transcript?

  • Its is my senior year right now, and I have a 79.8(B-) in AP Physics. Long story short, I took Physics H, got a 98% in the class and thought I would do well in the AP class. I was wrong. Since I did not take calc yet(concurrent) I did not know much about integration or differentiation. The first test we got was killer and compounded with the fact that I knew very little about calc I bombed it. Since our grade is mainly tests, my grade has been bottle necked severely by that one test. I have been improving, slightly, and obviously will try to get that B, but I probably will get the C + I probably will get a c in the course, would it be better to drop it and get a W in the class or just stick with the C. How will that affect my chances at UC's. I want to get into at least Davis. My uc weighted gpa up to now is 4.15. Also, I most likely will get all A's for the rest of my classes( i only have one other ap, though, and that is Calc AB) I do not plan on majoring in science( I am going all undecided except for UCLA in which i am applying for design media)

  • Answer:

As an undergrad I had a professor that said, "Avoid at all costs of taking a W on any course". My motto was always C's get degrees and really you can afford to take a C on one course.
