How can I improve my math SAT score?

I need help on the SAT(mostly on writing and math)?

  • Im currently taking formal SAT prep classes and i regularly take practice SATs and i seriously want to improve my math and grammar Math 450-500 Critical reading 550-600 Writing 450-500 Essay 6-8 Im really not good at math and i dont read like at all so how do i improve both? Math: im going to be a junior next year and i have not taken Algebra 2 so math im sure i can learn through school, any suggestions will be great Grammar: I am horrible at the spot the error questions i mainly choose the one that is the most correct sounding and use logic only 25% of the time, i am not a reader and i never have so i guess i missed out on the thing that could greatly improve my score. So how do i learn proper grammar quickly and effectively?? Any tips, tricks, comments or teachings will be greatly appreciated :)

    Math requires a lot of practices. I think that for you, you should do some extra special review for math since you haven't even taken Algebra yet. When do you plan to take SAT? A issue with Writing section is that what sounds "right" is not always grammatically "correct," and what sounds "wrong" is actually "incorrect" in terms of grammar sometime. I think you nailed the heart of the matter by recognizing that you're not a reader. The only way to improve markedly is to read a lot. Otherwise, the written language is just theoretical. The way people usually talk and good writing are two different things. I'd suggest that you start reading a lot, even if it's just working your way through the Harry Potter series from the library. And read through news magazines like Time or Newsweek, too. Or light science magazines like Discover.

The SATs test reasoning not grammar, you need to study vocabulary ( for that i would recommend taking a look at a dictionary).
