What are GCSEs and Alevels worth in the US?

Do they recognize GCSEs in Canada and the USA?

• I'm currently doing my GCSEs, I'm almost definitely going to do A-Levels and want to go to Uni. I've thought about it, and because I want to live in Canada or the States when I leave education I think it would be better to go to Uni there too. I'll probably apply for a couple of UK Universities (probably Oxford and Cambridge) and then Harvard/Stanford and Toronto. I know the UK Universities may look at my GCSEs, but do foreign Universities even recognize GCSEs? I'm doing Duke of Edinburgh, Volunteering and Languages so I'll have skills on my application, along with my A-Level results. So honestly, will the foreign Universities look at my GCSEs when choosing applicants, after my A-Level results and skills etc?

  I don't know the answer to this question but I would say a starting point would be contacting the embassy's for the countries you are interested in going to, ask them. I am sure they will point you in the right direction for you're answers. Good Luck, have a good life.
