How truly hard and difficult is AP calculus BC?

AP Calculus BC? Need advice people ?

  • I am thinking to take the AP calculus BC this may by doing self study. I live in Indonesia where there is only 1 school which offers AP however that school is only open for people not holding Indonesian passport so I can't study there. I have not taken AP Calculus AB I want to directly do BC. Is it possible for me to achieve a 5 in calculus BC if I self study I have 6 months from nowonwards will I achieve a 5 coz the UNI I want to go to wants a 5 in AP Calculus BC. Please. Advice?

    Calc ab is kind of essential to learning bc. It follows a lot of the same basic ideas. However, once you have ab concepts down, bc is not too hard. If you have the time, I suggest at least getting down the basics of ab. You can probably do it though. If you need more advice or want help with any concepts, you can message me, I love calc!

Yes--you can take AP Calculus BC. I studied Calculus A over the summer, and took AP Calculus BC last year. I didn't self-study though. You might need some extra help on the harder problems. Collegeboard also provides past free response questions online.
