Should I not take the SAT subject tests until after Community College? I already paid for them though?
-
I plan on going to Community College after high school in order to save money, and then transfer to a university/college. However, I signed up for the SAT subject tests already in order to get into one of the "higher up" schools, but seeing as that is not my immediate plan right now, should I bother killing myself studying for these tests? I don't think I will do well on them anyway; they will interfere with my school studies; and they will cause me more stress than I already have upon me now. So my question is, should I take the SAT subject tests? ***And if I decide not to, can I take the SAT subject tests again after high school, while in community college?

Answer:
Well, this is entirely personal on my part, but . . . I finished my high school requirements when I was 13. I was homeschooled, didn't skip any thing, just did it all faster. Consequently, I had quite a bit of time on my hands before I could matriculate full-time in college. I spent semesters at both community college and a local accredited four-year school, earning more than 30 credits before I was 17. To be succinct, take them now. You're going to thank yourself later, because frankly, it won't ever get easier for you than you have it in high school. Time is money, especially with studying. Later, you're only going to have the added stress of employment, tuition bills from community college since that's where you plan to be, possibly even relationships . . . and even the fact that schoolwork at community college will be your primary focus. Trying to add studying for SAT subject tests on top of all that is kind of sadomasochistic then. =0 To answer your last question though, yes, it is entirely possible to register and sit for any Collegeboard exam at any point in life. Whether you should or not though is a different matter altogether. From the perspective of someone who's been down the whole road of SAT testing, retesting, subject testing, community college, and four-year college, do it as early as you can and get it out of the way. Take it seriously though, because you want to do well so you only need to sit for the exams once and get them out of the way. Whatever you choose to do though, I hope this has helped. Best of luck hun. = )

the SAT, and subject tests are useless after high school, this is because they are only for admission purposes.
