Will I need to take SAT/ACT if I move to America?

  99% of American universities require either the SAT or ACT as an admission requirement, so it is highly suggested that you take it. Most people will take one of the tests in the fall of their 3rd year of education and then again in the spring or summer of their 3rd year. There are a lot of people who take it in their 4th year of high school, but it is not recommended that you wait until then to take it, as there is a huge time crunch and you are limited in your options to retake and to study. For a student who would be applying for this fall's semester in college (hypothetical), it would look like this: October-December 2010: Some juniors take this SAT, but it's primarily filled with seniors trying to get in a last sitting. Spring/Summer 2011: Most juniors will have taken their SAT/ACT by this point in their high school career; this is often the most commonly used date for most students. Fall 2012: The now-seniors can often retake the test (there are 3 before year end), but those applying Early Decision/Early Action (deadlines early to mid-November) are usually limited to the October test date.
