I need help with LEADERSHIP SKILLS for a test... can some one help please something serious not a joke?

  • STUDY GUIDE: 1. ONE ASPECT OF LEADERSHIP IS THE NEED TO BE ACCOUNTABLE TO BOTH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS. THE STAKEHOLDERS RANGE FROM EMPLOYEES TO BOARD MEMBERS TO STOCKHOLDERS AND THEN TO CUSTOMERS. 2. LEADERSHIP OFTEN IS STRESSFUL. LEADER NEED TO MANAGE STRESS. BEHAVIORS LIKELY TO INCREASE STRESS INCLUDE: -ARGUING WITH SOMEONE ABOUT WHAT IS CAUSING STRESS. -IGNORING THE STRESSFUL SITUATION RATHER THAN ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE IT. -BEING UNREALISTIC ABOUT WHAT CAN BE CHANGE. -ABUSING ALCOHOL AND/OR OTHER DRUGS. -AVOIDING OPPORTUNITIES TO SEEK HELPFUL ADVICE. 3. STRESS MAY BE REDUCED BY BETTER MANAGEMENT OF THE LEADER'S TIME. EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT MUST BE ON THE LIST OF LEADERSHIP SKILLS TO DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN. THE NUMBER ONE OFFENDER ON THE LIST OF REASON FOR 'NOT HAVING ENOUGH TIME" IS PROCRASTINATION. THIS MEANS SOMEONE WHO PUTS OFF UNTIL TOMORROW WHAT CAN BE DONE TODAY, DELAYS DOING IT NO, DRAGGING YOUR FEET ABOUT STARTING OR COMPLETING A TASK (PERHAPS BECAUSE YOU ARE A PERFECTIONIST AND WORRY THAT THE FINISHED PRODUCT MIGHT NOT BE PERFECT). COMPETENCY TEST: QUESTION:361. STAKEHOLDERS OF AN ORGANIZATION? A- RANGE FROM EMPLOYEES TO BOARD MEMBERS TO STOCKHOLDERS AND THEN TO CUSTOMER. B- ARE ONLY PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF THE ORGANIZATION. C- ARE NOT IMPORTANT TO THE DECISIONS LEADERS MAKE. D- NO OF THE ABOVE.. QUESTION:362. SOME BEHAVIORS ABLE TO INCREASE STRESS? A- ARGUING WITH SOME ONE ABOUT WHAT IS CAUSING STRESS. B- IGNORING THE STRESSFUL SITUATION. C- BEING UNREALISTIC ABOUT WHAT CANNOT BE CHANGED. D- ALL OF THE ABOVE. QUESTION:363. A PROCRASTINATOR? A- PUTS OFF UNTIL LATER NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED NOW. B- ALWAYS ENDS UP WITH MORE TIME THAN ANYONE ELSE. C- COULD BE A PERFECTIONIST. D- A AND C ABOVE.

  • Answer:

It's A,D,C. Perfectionists often tend to be slow. Slowness can often be confused with procrastination until the perfectionist becomes accepted. But, I think that one is a dual answer. I got the best advice about stress from a 30 year manager at a huge banking facility. His pager was firing off on a late Friday afternoon while we were kicking back at the local pub. He finally took the pager, turned it off and gave it to our gorgeous bartender. I sat in astonishment. I asked him why. He said, the last time I checked, I can't do a g'damned thing on a late Friday afternoon and I ain't a brain surgeon on call. Remember who you are and what you do. Don't take urself too seriously. Hey, good luck though.
