Is it difficult to raise a family while studying?

I scored really poorly on my SAT without any studying and I want to raise my score in two months by studying?

  • So I got a terrible SAT score, below average and I'm horrified by it. I got a 1390: 400 on math, 480 on CR, and 510 (6) on writing.... I didn't really study for it, I thought I'd wing it, stupid me... Math is a weakness for me because I took Algebra 1 in 8th grade, Geometry the summer of my 8th grade year, then skipped a year from math in 9th grade and took Algebra 2 in 10th.... and I'm really bad at it. But my question is, if I studied really hard for the next two and a half months, being really dedicated to learning as much as I can, how much higher could I raise my score? I'm aiming for about a 1700 ? Please give me some advice, I know I screwed up. Also, my dad wants me to take it three times which I'm skeptical of because I read that your score doesn't go up very much after your second try. Why is that, btw, I mean, if you study why couldn't you raise your score higher every time you take it. Last thing, before I took the SAT my mom told me she read a tip that if you don't know the answer to a question, circle B or C consistently for each section because it's apparently been proven that most answers are either B or C, so I did that... Please give me some advice on how to achieve my goal and is it even achievable, no hate please <3

  • Answer:

You can do it, I personally studied (no lie) for like 2 1/2 weeks, and by study I mean I read a book on SAT test taking tips and advice (im not bad at math but I had been in independent studies for 2.5 yrs) and I scored a little more than an 1800 on my first (& last lol) try. I think you should borrow a book from the library that has SAT test taking advice, and also of course STUDY your math weaknesses. If you can, and I really think you can since it is early in the year, you can postpone your SAT test, they have it every 2 months I believe. Go ahead and visit the college board website where you can take practice tests as well. Good Luck. Be Confident!
