• The assignment is "Do you agree that persistence is the major factor in success, and that talent, genius, and education play, at best, secondary roles? The phrase "if you don't succeed try again" is a phrase that can only be applied to trivial situations like lets say a math test, or homework or maybe even a video game. However is has been proven otherwise in the real life world. Geniuses and people with talent is another story, they are competent hence is a major factor in success where as being persistent can be a nuisance after countless times. That is why persistency is not a major role in success, talent, being a genius, and education on the other hand play a major role. Those who are geniuses, or has talent and whatnot are smart enough to know they can accomplish anything as they, after all contain the skills. If they can accomplish anything put in front of them, then it is likely that they'll succeed in life and live in prosperity. This nullifies the fact that geniuses and talent are secondary roles. There's also the 1% and what do they have in common? They're all smart. Music Singers, basket ball players or any professional Sports for that matter, book writers, and so on, are all widely known for being rich and what they all have in common is that they have talent. Persistence however is not a vital factor, some can try and try again and only end up in a mediocre job. The point is that persistence can only bring you to a certain standpoint, a limit. where as those who has talent and is a genius shoots straight to the top. By some fortuitous chance persistence can lead to success, but its too inconsistent. Some can be persistent and continue to fail where as some lucky ones might take off. Being a genius and having talent is not, all that is needed for the forgoing is a good guide to facilitate their every moves until finally the gifted takes off and lands them on the top of the society. The unlucky ones has the potential but is not guided whereas the persistent one, guided or not, is mostly prone to not complete failure, but less than those at the top. This furthermore shows that persistence, not genius and talent should be classified as a second wheel and vice versa. The condescension of persistence itself, is to show that is erratic and less likely to bring you to success. Some might make it but when compared to those who have talent and is smart, it is rather minute really. This is why persistence is not a major factor, moreover genius and talent is.
