Got caught cheating on a test?

• Well my name is Jack and I live in California. I go to a school where we all get laptops issued to us, so we have a lot of assignments and tests online. Anyway, we also have a website we log into everyday that has all of our classes, and those classes has our agenda for the day, assignments, grades, etc. Well I had a test in one class today, and I looked at the agenda, and there was a link that said " go to this link for your test" for everyone enrolled in the class to see, even if you were not in the class at the time. Well I had the class later in the afternoon, so I thought I would go check out some of the questions on the test, along with many other people that did this too, why not just check it out? Fast forward, I got caught, and I was mad that I was the only one even though so many did exactly what I did and got away with it, probably with a good grade too cause they looked at the questions beforehand like I did. Its killing me cause I'm not a cheater, I was just being stupid and as my friend said "using available resources" lol, I don't know what to do, its killing me with guilt. The teacher said I could retake the test, but there will be a penalty.

  honestly, it was the teacher's fault. fight that penalty. play stupid and say that u thought it was an old test, because why would the teacher be so stupid as to put up the test early? it is completely her fault. and she/he knows it.
