How do i go about getting my mental health records?

If you feel you was wrongly diagnosed then you can go back to your doctor and explain this, they can refer you to be re-evaluated. I have been evaluated three times, I was referred each time by my doctor. Good luck.

You just go to the psychiatrist's office and tell them you need a copy of your records. That's what I did. They mailed them to me about a week later, and I didn't have to pay a fee to get them. The psychiatrist won't change the records just because you tell him you lied when you were seeing him. You would need him to re-evaluate you, and if he thinks you were misdiagnosed then the records from the current visit would show that. You could also see a completely different psychiatrist for a second opinion.

I went to my doctor and just asked for mine, I had to wait for a week and pay some fees for them but thats all I had to do. If you feel you was misdiagnosed tell your doctor or look for another psychiatrist to get a second opinion. You are entitled to hear a second opinion if you feel you have been diagnosed wrongly. Best thing to do would be express these concerns with your doctor.
