Is peanut butter toast healthy?

For a brunch idea? As a meal? I ate a granny smith apple for breakfast, or at around 11:00am, For lunch, or at 2:00ish, would a healthy option be A tablespoon of peanut butter on two pieces of whole wheat bread? That's one of my favorite meals and I really would love to know if it's healthy!

Not necessary, peanut butter on toast is a healthy SNACK, but it's NOT enough for lunch. Your lunch should consist of two servings of grain, 1 serving of protein, 1 serving of dairy, and 1 serving of fruit or veggie. 2 slices of toast = 1 serving of grain 2 tablespoons of peanut butter = 1 serving of protein. - If you only have 1 tablespoon of peanut butter you will be having 1 serving of fat (or 1/2 protein), but if you have 2 tablespoons of peanut butter you will be having 1 serving of protein. You are MUCH better off having 2 tablespoons of peanut butter than one. That way you don't need to make up for it later. Peanut butter is full of protein, full of fiber, full of omega-3s, is low in carbohydrates, and has no cholesterol. I recommend having: 2 slices of toast 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter 1 cup of milk 1 fruit like a banana or apple. Also, an apple is NOT enough for breakfast. It is only one serving of fruit, while breakfast should consist of 1-2 servings of grain, 1 serving of protein, 1 serving of dairy, and 1 serving of fruit or vegetable. You should be having each day: 6-11 servings of grains 3-5 servings of vegetables 2-4 servings of fruit 2-6 servings of protein 2-4 servings of dairy 1-2 servings of fats This ensures that you get all of the nutrients and vitamins and minerals that you need. Those nutrients help convert food to energy (instead of to fat), and they help maintain good skin, hair, eyes, muscle, bones, etc.

Yes it is. It's a great idea for brunch and a meal, you could add milk into the meal as well. I think it's a great healthy idea. You should toast it with a toaster and not a microwave.

Yeah its healthy. Bread isn't the best thing of your trying to loose weight tho. Try wheat honey bread. That's yummy and better for you than white bread. White bread turns into sugar more than wheat.

An apple is not breakfast. Have Kashi cereal with skim or soy milk. See how much better you'll feel. Have a tablespoon of peanut butter on each slice of bread, not one total. It is healthy, but you are not eating enough.

I recently fell under the influence of Dr. Neal Barnard, who recommends a very strict vegan diet with very little oil and no fat. I saw him on YouTube about a week ago and I've been trying to follow his advice. I've been about as successful as somebody who knows they should quit smoking and ends up smoking less than they used to. Anyhow, Dr. Barnard says peanut butter is full of oil, so avoid it. He advises eating rye bread or pumpernickel rather than white or whole wheat, which are digested too quickly and make your blood sugar shoot up suddenly. He also advises eating raw leafy vegetables, but I know he wouldn't approve of salad dressing and I'm not a rabbit. Besides, at this time of year, raw leafy vegetables are lettuce and spinach. I've never eaten raw spinach, but I hate the cooked stuff. He thinks beans are great. I bought some black beans, but today I opened up a can of pork and beans and ate them for lunch along with a couple of hot dogs. I did one virtous thing though. With my hot dogs and beans, I had a slice of rye bread with nothing on it and a glass of water. Stuff like skim milk and Coke are the work of the devil. I've checked Dr. Neal Barnard out plenty and he's legit. Check him out on YouTube.
