Why are the corners of my fisheye lens blurry?

Macro & Fisheye Lens'?

  • Well, I currently have a Raynox Macroscopic lens - model M-250, and when I compare my pictures taken with it to other macro pictures on the internet, my images have more of a fisheye affect. I have been looking into a fisheye lens to buy for my Panasonic FZ100, and before I buy anything for it, I was wondering if my macro lens is also a fisheye, the thing is, with the macro lens on, it is very hard to get it to focus on long range objects such as just taking a picture of a room, but if it does, the picture is distorted and if not zoomed in enough, a black ring around the picture from the edge of lens will appear, just any information of either macro and fisheye and how they should look once taken a picture would be helpful! Thanks in advance :)

To condense Chris' statement, Macro's are used to enhance fine details on a close up image, and are quite often used in food photography you might see on a package or cereal box. Fisheye lenses give a Super- Wide, morphed perspective, and tend to bow- out walls or give a panoramic view of a photo. Hope this helped!

Close up adapters are just that, they allow the lens to focus closer, when fitted to your lens you will loose the ability to focus at distance. They are like reading glasses for cameras. Adapters will never be as good as a dedicated macro lens on a DSLR, or even bellows or extension tubes, they are a compromise forced on you by having a fixed lens on your Bridge camera. When very close to your subject using them you will also notice the small depth of field (only part of your image will be in focus) and the long shutter times (your camera can only see the light reflected from a small area so the light is dim, your camera will have to compensate by using a slower shutter speed), to get a wider depth of field you can use a smaller aperture (higher f number), but that will reduce the light your camera sees even further, macro photography is not easy, and to be honest with a Bridge camera is virtually impossible.
