How do i achieve my goal of being a veterinarian?

What are the positives and negatives to being a farm veterinarian, and a companion veterinarian?

  • I am 13 years old and I have always wanted to be a companion animal veterinarian. However recently I have been doing work experience with a local farmer, which has opened my mind to another option of being a farm veterinarian. I know I don't have to decide now as I am young, but it would be great to have a clear goal. It would be great to have some long and detailed answers, I need as much information as possible. (I am worried about the physical strength you need to become a farm veterinarian) Thank you.

  • Answer:

There's no such things. There're only vets, who treat more or fewer large than small animals. They are trained to handle/subdue various species. & this is NOT the career counseling section

Most vets work with both large and small animals as part of they daily work load. Of course there are one who specailise but if they work in a genearl practice which most are they will be expected to do both.
