Where is the Salvation Army Auction?

My kids were sponsored for Christmas gifts from the salvation army, can I thank the sponsor?

  • Ok so I'm 32 lost my hubby while pregnant with our son. I'm struggling this year as I have 2 small children under the age of 3 and work is not a option for me at this moment as I was diagnosed with a disease that causes me unbearable pain 2-3 weeks out of the month. Any whoo I coukd not afford any gifts this year for my kids and called the salvation army for help. They called me yesterday and said I was sponsored by a family and I had to come pick up my items. Whom ever got my children gifts this year has made me feel more happy than words can describe. Because of these anonymous caring loving people, my children will have a amazing Christmas with more gifts than my tree can hold. They got the so moch including wonderful clothes and snow suits. A few gifts were individually wrapped with the kids names on them and a card saying with love. I can not go without thanking this family and letting them know just how special they have made this Christmas. Now my question is, do you think i could call the salvation army and tell them that I would like to thank this family? Even if i couod drop off a card of thanks and some photographs of my kids opening there gift to the salvation army, do you think they would give the card to our sponsors? Obviously they know who my sponsor was correct? Or is this all a confidential kinda thing? I seriously have to let these people know how grateful I am and they are the most kindest Santa out there .

  • Answer:

That would be so sweet of you! If you could afford it, maybe you could bake them some cookies or something. I would call Salvation Army and ask them if you could have their number, but it may be confidential. If it is, then they may be able to drop it all off at Salvation Army and then they could have the sponsor come pick it up. Reading your story brought tears to my eyes. I work with Samaritan's Purse through my church and I really like hearing true stories from people like you. I'll will be keeping you in my prayers. Please always remember that God loves you and has a plan for you.

I think it is confidential. But drop off a card to the store and they can forward it the person. I'm so happy that you and your childrens holiday is a little more joyful:)

Take a picture of your children enjoying the items and post a thank you letter, that way the sponsor will know the letter is for them. I was a child whose presents also came from the Salvation Army (30 years later I still have the ET doll I got) They would probably love to know their gifts were enjoyed so much.
