When was the last time a white christmas was in Philadelphia?

Does anybody else find Christmas time racist? (warning rant)?

  • I mean all the schools make me sing Christmas songs about trees, snows, reindeer, and santa. I see nothing wrong with Christmas it's just that Christmas is a Christian holiday and I thought schools were supposed to keep religion out of it. Also, if you can do Christmas things (christmas, easter) and sometimes Jewish, shouldn't we also do Hindu, Islamic, and other religious holidays? Oh and I'm not Christian, so I don't celebrate Christmas. Personally, I find it the worst time of the year because of all the people shopping, the constant Christmas carols everywhere I go, the sometimes tacky lights, and because there is nothing to do on Christmas day other than sleep in. I guess this doesn't make Christmas racist, but I still don't like it. Also, no, I'm not jealous or anything. I have my own holidays where I am allowed to take off from school and I get presents and what not.

    It's not racism - more people celebrate Christmas than other religions. Hey, I'm going down a Pagan pathway so I even changed (though my teachers don't approve) our national anthem - (I'm Canadian) So instead of ''God keep our land'' I say ''Please keep our land''. My family is a mix of Pagan, Christian, Catholics, and a Buddhist, but we all still, in a way celebrate Christmas. You sort of have to adjust. They have their beliefs, and you have yours. Yes, it gets lonely, and super frustrating, when you basically have to get used to how they do things. And then you bring up the point that religion is supposed to stay out of it - well, I never heard of that before. Depends on the school. :/

Racist? No. That would imply that Christmas somehow excludes or demeans members of certain race(s). I could see a case for religious superiority, which is quite different. However, as others have noted, many celebrate Christmas without being Christian. While it is a Christian holiday, a lot of people hold it dear.

yea i am christen and i can understand what your saying but it is one of the biggest holiday and its the best time of the year for Christan, Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus and begin thankful i am quite sure u would feel so happy if i say your holiday is raciest we have our own holiday and we will not feel happy if you say its raciest so please keep it to yourself.

No because many people celebrate Christmas and it is a time about giving and recieveing , not about asking. Its a time of year that you spend time wth ur family and friends and be happy . Its not racis.
