Advice on what to do to become a police officer? please help?

I want to become a police officer.i just do not know how to go about doing so.Can some1 please help me.Thank U?

    You first go to the personnel office and see if they are hiring. I would suggest finishing college because they would look at you faster if you have a certain degree. Also, it will be a long process, polygraph test, extensive background checks, and home visits. The test that they give you is pretty difficult, but they have classes and will help you to pass it. If you have a domestic violence charge or any kind of felony, don't even think about it.

you need to talk to your local police department/sheriff department and have them sponsor you. If you live in a larger city, they may have a website to start the application process. They will run a back ground, possibly credit and job history check on you and interview you. Then they will send you to a psychological and medical screenings along with a physical agility test. If you pass, they sponsor you- you usually sign a contract, and depending on their policy they may (or may not) pay your fees to the academy. Or- You can go to your county jail and work your way up the ranks- until the county sponsors you.
