Online Traffic School?

Online Traffic School Confusion?!?!?!?

• Hi, I recently got a ticket for speeding. Trying to pay the fine. I live in the county of Los Angeles, but I received my ticket in San Diego. I was looking at the FAQs from the San Diego Court House, and can someone take a look at question 7? http://www.sdcourt.ca.gov/portal/page?_pageid=55,1272262&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&a=5 Why is the ONLINE TRAFFIC school option only for people living INSIDE of San Diego?! I want to complete traffic school online because I don't have time to attend one either in San Diego or the Los Angeles county. I tried calling them and I was on hold for over 40 minutes (AND GETTING CHARGED EVERY MINUTE BTW). What to do now?

  I THINK I know what the problem is, which is poor web site design. What they intended to do was allow people who did not live in SD County to attend regular traffic schools in other places. Instead of trying to approve all those schools, they rely on the DMV list. Since you can go to an online school anywhere in the state, they did not figure they needed a second list--but they forgot to duplicate the list for out of county residents. I suspect that an online traffic school on their list will be fine no matter where you live, but I am going to check with some colleagues in San Diego, and should hear back in a day or two, so don't close the question, and I'll give an update later. ADD: Although I have requested information from San Diego, I have not yet heard back. It seems to me that denying online school to out of county residents would be unconstitutional, but that is probably a fight you do not want to take on, if that is the case. If you send me an email through YA, I can respond as soon as I hear if this question has closed.
