How to write a letter to a judge missing court date?

  one thing: you probably were SENT the letter and it didnt appear, or you were told to show up and they didnt give you a letter. anyhow, the best way to handle missing a court date with a judge is to say "Your Honor, (whatever you have to say). in this particular circumstance, for you its going to be very hard to shift the blame on whomever it may be onto yourself. now you have to hear me out because this will not gain you instant favor with the judge, but this will help ease off whatever results are coming. here is one way to say it "Your Honor i was supposed to show up on the 28th of september and i didnt. i accept full blame for not showing up, and whatever consequences of such are cast upon me." now even though its probably not your fault, you will have to take the blame for it. i hated doing it when i missed court a few years ago, but i had to suck up to the judge. when they hear you say "i accept whatever consequences of such actions on my part" (in theory. it worked for me), they sort of ease off a little because it shows that you are a responsible person, and that you are willing to own up for whatever happened. EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT YOUR FAULT, thats the best thing for you to do in front of the judge instead of saying that the post office screwed it up or i didnt receive a letter or whatever situation you think it was. ive said my piece. you make your own decision on this. but for your own sake, just do what ive told you to
