How to get a trial with a europ club?

A Club took my camera and now they lost it. How do I get them to replace it?

• Some friends and I went to a club a few weeks ago. They took my camera because they said we weren't allowed to have cameras inside the club. When we left I had forgotten they had it. A friend of mines called the next Monday and they told her the owner had to pick it up. So I drove out to the club to get it and they couldn't find it. The security guy that took the camera said he will take a look at the security cameras and see if someone took it. I keep calling and they keep saying they can't find it and will replace it. I talked to the security guy a few days ago and he said to meet him at the club and he'll bring the new camera. I get there and waited 2 hours! and he never showed up. I wrote a note w/ my name and phone number and gave it to the assistant manager to give to the owner of the club and have not heard back. I have tried multiple times and I feel like they are giving me the run around. When you take a personal item from a customer or anyone when you're running a business you should have a designated area to keep those items and they didn't. They also did not have a sign stating .. we aren't allowed to bring cameras. How do I get them to replace the camera? Is it too late to file a police report since its been about 4 weeks?

  If they took it from you, then they bear the responsibility of keeping it safe and returning it to you upon demand. They didn't, and so you have grounds to sue them for the value of the camera or a reasonable replacement. Threaten to file a civil lawsuit against them and they'll probably give you the camera or the money for it. If not, actually file the suit and recover it through the legal process.
