Is there any way to get my other old account back?

My son's friend stole 10 thousand from my bank account online. Is there any way I can get it back?

  • Hey there. So basically, my son and his friend were planning on moving out together. Well, my son and him both logged into my son's bank account online, which also showed both my loans, credit cards, and checking account. The friend then transfered 10 thousand of the cash from my account to my son's bank account, which they then withdrew from an atm. Is there any way I can get my 10 thousand back from the bank? Is there any way I can prove it was my son's friend? I really don't know what to do.

    It's possible that the 10 grand was transferred from your account into your son's...but there was no ATM withdrawal for that amount...the machines won't dispense that kind of money. The withdrawal would have to have been in person...and your son would have to withdraw it...with proof of ID (picture) Unfortunately...your son did this...not his friend. Even with multiple withdrawals...there's a limit on how much can be withdrawn from a specific account per day (usually 250-300 bucks)...this would take weeks. Your son orchestrated this theft...no doubt about it. I've never seen anyone so calm about having 10,000 bucks taken from them...hmmm...

Your kid is a thief, he stole your money. His friend may have been present, but your son stole it. Put the blame where it belongs, and then report it to the police. If your son is an adult (over 18) you will get your money back from the bank when you prosecute your son. The bank then has the option of suing your son and recovering the money from him after he gets out of jail. If your son is a minor under 18, you are responsible to repay the money he steals, so you would not get anything back.
