How to become a Dallas Police Officer?

Most academies you have to be 21, but just go apply to the police academy after that... if they are hiring and you better have a clean record. If you have to lie about your past drug use and or criminal activity, you better go get a book on how to pass the polygraph (if they make you take it) It's all about your aptitude test scores. If you are not a dummy, you will probably get in. Just go try and be a cop first. I know 2 guys with bachelor's degrees in criminal justice who wanted to be cops, and they aren't. They just said they are not the right guys for the job for one reason or another, and it wasn't physical. Of my friends who are cops, only one has a degree, and only one was in the military beforehand. You can go to school to get promotions after you get into the dept. You better know your English because it's going to be reports reports reports if you ever want to get past writing traffic tickets. Just ask yourself this question: Do you want to always be looking over your shoulder ? You better work in one town and live in another.
