How to become a detective?

How do you become a detective. I know you need all those degrees and everything, but is it really necessary if you're gonna work by yourself.

Answer:
For a police detective: You do not need "all those degrees". You need some brains, a capacity to think critically and logically. You need whatever education is required to become a police officer with your chosen department, usually not more than 60 semester hours of college but some only HS. You really need to stop watching TV and playing video games, they are not real life. You need to become a cop, work 2 to 5 years on the street. Take a deceives test when offered. Score very well (in the top 7%). when a detective's class is to be given you get picked off the list by score rank. You make it through deceive school and then get promoted. If you were really and excellent street cop you may get a chance to pick what kind of detective unit you will go into. You rarely work completely alone. you first 6 months as a deceive you will always have a more experienced partner. Even when you work alone any major case becomes a team effort.

Your first hurdle is to be hired by a police department which is not easy. Per chance if you are hired you have to go to the academy and graduate. Then you spend at least several years on the street as a uniformed patrol officer and show your supervisors that you can make arrests, write good reports, and have initiative. If you have all that then a few years down the road you may become eligible for a vacant detective position.
It's necessary. I hope to see you on the force as you seem sharp
I will answer based on a detective at a police agency in the U.S. Most agencies require at least five years as a police officer before applying to be a detective. You need to learn the basics of how to interview and deal with people before becoming a detective. Other than that, there is no "college degree" about being a detective. Some agencies require a college degree to apply, but most do not (except federal jobs)
The general public will want to see you destroyed behind their smiles- But you will be the first they call if in danger- Once you start traffic and word gets around your a police officer, Everybody will start to stay away from you, Unless they need something or have been violated. Best friends will be gone! You will retire early with few friends and a shabby retirement cut- If you make it that long- Big , Huge mistake! Do something you love, and have passion for-
