Driving without a license in California?

What happens if you get caught driving without a driver's license in California ... twice?

  • First time, I was living in CA, I was 19, and I didn't have my driver's license yet (Oct. 2007). Second time I got caught driving without a license (May 2009), I was in LA on vacations celebrating my 21st birthday (I currently live in Argentina). I have to go to court on July 24th. Last time I had to pay $400, I think. This time, I don't know what will happen because it's the second time I get caught driving without a CA license. Will I have to serve jail time? Or am I just going to have to pay a bigger amount of money? Or both? Funny enough, I got pulled over both times on the same street and I will have to go to the same court. *** I got pulled over by the LA Sheriff in Pico Rivera, CA both times.

  • Answer:

You will prob get a reeaaally heavy fine and you will kiss ever seeing your license goodbye! maybe jail but most likely just fines as long as you didn't get in accident or didn't hurt anyone!

CA For a first offense, a judge may impose: probation/jail/fine up to $ 1,000 For a second offense, I'm inclined to believe a judge will give you a larger fine and a little jail time since you are not learning your lesson
