Benefits of having an EMT certification?
-
I would like to know what kind of benefits having an EMT certification can provide. Obviously it can get you a job as an EMT and I know that most paid fire departments require new recruits to get their EMT certification but how would it benefit someone looking to get into Law Enforcement. If possible I would like to hear the opinions of any law enforcement officers out there. Thanks.

Answer:
The only real benefit is that you would be able to render medical care beyond what your fellow officers are capable of, and since more and more cities are beginning to dispatch Police to medical calls along with EMS the medical attention you provide before the ambulance arrives could make the difference between life and death.
