I want to have a career in Law enforcement. What should I do?

  • I basically want to become a Cop, but I am not sure on what college I should go to, and what career I should follow. I have heard that I should follow Criminal Justice, but that sounds like a career for Layers. I'm a bit confused, so I would appreciate anyone who can answer some of my questions. Thanks for your time...

  • Answer:

Practice beating unarmed people, then spray them in the face with any household cleaner and finally strip an electrical wire, plug it in and shock them into submission. That should get you well on your way to becoming an evil fascist, jack booted THUG!

Any liberal arts or science degree would be fine--you don't need a degree in Criminal Justice, but it is a good degree to have if you want to be a police officer. Most CJ majors are not planning to be lawyers--most go on to be police officers, investigators, probation or parole officers, corrections professionals.

Taking CRJ in college is not a career for lawyer. You learn everything you need to know about the justice system, corrections, intro to law enforcement and many others. Unless your 19 and your a high school diploma many police dept will accept that and if you do go to college and get a degree in CRJ you get extra points on the civil service you take. And i would go to a college that has the best CRJ program. Also if you are really interested in becoming a police officer i would go online to a police dept near you and see what they have to offer for you or you could even call them. You could be a US Marshal, Trooper, Corrections Officer, Custody officer, Police Officer, Sheriff, Town or Village Police Officer and Border Patrol. I would check there web site
